It was a perfect weekend. Beautiful weather, nothing pressing to get done, lots of time outside. Friday after work I snagged a deal at World Market where they had outdoor funiture for 50% off. I picked up 3 chairs and 2 tables for my patio. Bryan Carlson, who started at Mayo this month came over and along with Erm, the three of us put together the chairs and then hung out on the patio with pizza and drinks til it was too dark to see and then came inside and watched movies. Kyle and Madey were at a Twins game on Friday evening and then drove down, not getting here until 1:00 or so Sat. morning. After we heard about their trip and showed them their rooms, we went to bed. Got to sleep in until 9:00 or so (first time in a while) made coffee and muffins and the 4 of us (Lester, Madey, Erm, and me) sat out on the patio eating, talking, and eventually playing card games through the late morning and into the early afternoon. Me being me, I of course broke one of the brand new patio chairs, quite a bummer, since I hadn't even had it 24 hours yet. But definitetly a good laugh for the cousins. After a light lunch of somen (best summer food ever) Lester and Madey took off. After Erm and I made individual pizza loaves for lunch next week, she went for a bike ride, and I met Jill and Mindee for pie. Jill came over afterwards and the two of us went rollerblading till I fell down and completed my set of summer knees. * We sat out on the patio catching up for a bit, till she took off and I started working on the slides for Sunday worship service while we watched Spanglish (what do you think of that movie? I give it two thumbs up, but I know others have strongly contrasting views).
So Sunday morning, I got up and finished slides. Went to church, and then A, T, and the kids as well as Bryan came over for tacos and watermelon. The shots below are from today. JAC is warming up to Erm, as you can see. Spent the rest of the afternoon doing a bit of cleaning, laundry, and not much of anything.
Can't think of a better way to spend a weekend, except of course if you could have been here.
