Heading West

I'm taking off today after work for a week in Montana. I've been looking forward to this for almost a year now. It will be so nice to see lots of relatives I haven't seen in quite a while. And as we're hoping for Maggie's birthday any day now, it will be so great to welcome a niece.
Oh, yeah, the rhubarb is out of control, so anyone who happens to be in Rochester, feel free to help yourself, and those of you in Montana may be getting a "special" surprise.

Garden update

Plants of all kinds are coming up both in the front and the back. Reese, the rhubarb is ready. When are you coming to harvest? I think I've mentioned before that I have lots of hosta in both the front and the back. You can see some of it in the tulip shot and another shot of the "elephant ear" hosta in the back. I have three bushes of bleeding heart, two pink (like the one shown) and one white. I don't know what the last two pictures are. Do you?

OK, so much for the joys of home ownership. Now a story about the frustrations. NB was nice enough to give me a lawn mower last fall which ran really well. However, I couldn't get it started yesterday when I wanted to mow the lawn as it's was supposed to rain all day today. Anyway after a helpful phone call from him, I figured out how to start it and got most of the lawn mowed. However, when I moved the car out of the garage to get the lawn mower out, I decided that instead of backing straight out as I always do, I thought I would save that whole 5 seconds and just pull over to the side of the driveway from the garage. Needless to say, the front of my car and the side of my garage are not compatible. I really wasn't going very fast, but I scraped the side and broke off a piece of the part around the headlight. Not only that, but I scraped the side of the garage enough that you can see a visible dent. It's bad enough that I smashed my own car, but I also damaged the garage. Argh! totally not worth a lawn mowing, but at least the damage doesn't keep me from driving or from closing the garage or anything.
